We are hiring: Account Manager

The Herbstreith & Fox Corporate Group is a German-based leading manufacturer of pectin and dietary fiber for the food industry. The products are used to provide texture in fruit spreads, fruit preparations and confectionery products, but also in savory applications. As a mid-sized company, we offer solutions to a global customer base via a network of local subsidiaries and strategic partners.

We are currently seeking a full-time Account Manager / Technical Sales for our Midwest territory. Based in a home office or working from H&F Inc. facility near White Plains, NY the account manager is responsible to growing business with existing customers while also developing new business opportunities. Direct interaction with cross functional H&F teams is crucial for successful completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Handling and managing enquiries from customers and prospects within the territory
  • Being the primary contact and building of long-term relationships with customers
  • Ensure the timely successful delivery of our products and solutions according to customer needs and objectives by communicating with clients that all their needs are understood and addressed
  • Negotiate pricing and supply agreements
  • Generate leads, develop and close opportunities for continuous growth of our business
  • Resolving complaints and keeping track of all processes that pertain to the client’s desires
  • Providing ongoing technical support to clients to ensure that all R&D and commercialization related requests have been addressed appropriately for ensuring successful completion of new projects
  • Provide ongoing support and work internally with various teams (Customer Service, Planning, Applications, Quality and Regulatory) to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Daily work in CRM system to capture leads, opportunities, and all other tasks for successful territory management
  • Establish regular targets for customer communication
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through participation in industry trade shows and conferences
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science; Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food industry with experience in product development and commercialization. Proven sales development skills
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • High level of business acumen
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
